Ford Repair: E250 Ford Van, squirrel cage, ford van

I have a 1999 E250 Ford Van 6 cylinder 4.2 liter that just this week when I start the fan,it has started making clicking noises that sound like the noise you make when holding paper in a floor fan. The noise is very loud. Got any ideas what this could be??

Which fan are you referring to, I assume that you are referring to the blower for the climate control? One of two things has happened. A piece of paper or another object has found it's way into the "squirrel cage." The squirrel cage is what the assembly cage for the blower fan. The second would be that the blower motor itself is defective. The blower motor is connected to the squirrel cage. Either way you need to get to the blower assembly to take a look, until then if the sound is bad, I may advise to use the blower as little as possible. This will keep you from damaging either the squirrel cage or the motor.
