Ford Repair: 76 ford engine, ford engine, luck chris

in the vin number of the truck it says my engine is a 360  but in an lmc truck magazine it says the only engine that has a 4 barrel engine is the 390 which is what i have.  so i am wonderin if it is a 360  or a 390? where are the vin numbers for the engine and how do i figure it out what it is?  thank you

hey there, im not to sure about any vehicle this old, that truck is older then i am, haha, but stamping numbers are always located somewhere on the lower part of the block, more then likely somewhere visable,, and it will only be on the block, depending on the condition of the surface it may be unreadable, so if you see soemthing that may be a number just buff it down and see if you can make something of it, good luck
