Question
THIS CAR WAS PAST DOWN TO ME AND I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE DIST.AND MODULE DUE TO THE WIRES IN THE DIST. BEING MELTED. THE CAR RUNS FINE WHEN IT IS COLD BUT AFTER IT WARMS UP IT IT SPUTTERS BACK FIRES,DIES AND WONT RUN UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN ??? I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE ALT. VOLTAGE REG. CAP.PLUGS.WIRES. ALSO.COULD IT BE THE COIL?? GOING BROKE. BEFORE WE CHANGED THE DIST. IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING.

Answer
yes it could be the coil-distributor problems were very common so where did you get your distributor if it was a rebuilt which is probably all you can get now, the pickup coil in dist may be bad or the module if it was a cheapie like from az could be the culprit. make sure when it don't start you do not have spark because i would hate for you to be working with that just to find you have a fuel problem
next time it doesn't start take a test light and check the red wire to coil when key is on and see if you have power-touch the other side of coil and have someone spin it over see if it flickers-or pull coil wire off and hold about 1/4 inch over coil tower while someone spins it and see if you have spark let me know if you don't.
