Ford Repair: 1976 bronco fuel gauge, fuel gauge, stock dash

I have a 76 bronco 302, 3 speed manual, stock dash/instrument cluster w/ no radio from factory. My fuel gauge does not work. all grounds for both tanks senders are clean, and i did find an almost broken in half black wire the attaches to actual fuel gauge, orange wire appears to have no rub spots or breaks. the needle did move slightly off of complete "E" when started, but does not read fuel level. any suggestions?

if grounds are ok-you may pull senders out and disassemble and clean off rust it can be done just be careful with them-if they are ok you may have a bad guage. i have a guage tester although you don't see them much anymore your truck can be tested before you order any parts.
