Ford Repair: door ajar warning light and beep, door latch assembly, warning light

I have a 2002 TBird. I have a few things going on, but the door ajar one is the most annoying. When it gets hot outside, the light stays on for a while and the annoying beep. When this happens I also can not lock the door, it just flips open again.  My passenger side door lock works sometimes.

hey there. this sounds like either the door latch assembly has to be replaced, the door ajar switch is built into the latch assembly, the switch will not allow you to lock the door if it thinks the door is open, but obviously it is closed! the latch assembly typicall rns around 150-200 dollars candian, and takes about 1 1/2 hours to do.
