Ford Repair: heat, air and defrost on 98 ford escort, blower motor resister, blown fuse

Hi I have a question about a 98 ford escort 2 door ZX2. the car has no heat, air or defrost. The switch turns however there is nothing coming out. Every once in a while ( 1 of out 100 times) it will blow out enough to be considered at a low level even when the switch is turned to high. I do not want to get ripped off at the shop and am hoping for some input. This car also needs a muffler..ballpark estimate would be greatly appreciated...Thank you.  Pamela

Hello Pamela, There is possibly a bad blower motor, resister or blown fuse for the blower motor. You have to someone check to see if there is power to the blower and go from there. The muffler est. about 100.00 depends on how good of a muffler you have installed. Thanks Tony
