Ford Repair: 1997 f150 4.6, head gasket problems, vacuum leaks

Question
I have a 1997 F150 4.6. Has been running rough and throwing mis- fire codes from the check engine light. No power loss. after sitting for a few days it steams for about 20 minutes after starting then the steam goes away. number 3 and 2 cylinders where the culprits. cylinder 2's plug wire was loose 3 was not. I heard this year has intake issues and it is a 50/50 shoot it is the intake and not the head gasket. What is your opinion?

Answer
is it misfiring while steaming-the water jackets are on the corners of the intake and won't get in individual cylinders-gaskets are easy to change though-steam on colder mornings is normal because of hot moist exhaust hitting cooler air so i am not sure you have a problem their
i would pay more attention to plugs/wires or coils/vacuum leaks/dirty injectors etc. if you aren't losing coolant i wouldn't be so concerned with intake or head gasket problems. good luck.
