Ford Repair: Stalling, engine light on, vacuum leak, ford explorer

Question
Hi there, I have a 2000 ford explorer automatic 6 cyl. Over the last few days it
has not wanted to start unless I push the gas pedal all the way down. Then I
have to keep the RPM's up in order to get it to go into drive or reverse without
stalling.I added some HEET to my gas and have went through a half a tank of
gas and still have the same problem. Now the engine light has come on.
Thanks in advance for any help. C

Answer
probably a sticking iac motor (idle air control) or vacuum leak-have it scanned to see what code you get and maybe that will point toward something more specific. don't replace any parts until it is checked out or you visually see a problem. good luck.
