Ford Repair: running rough/loss of power, ford f 150, control switch

I have a 2001 ford f-150 5.4L lariat. I changed the thermostat and now the truck runs rough and has loss of power. I was told it could be temp. control switch/sensor, if so where is it located?  Thank you.

why did you replace the stat if it was for this problem then you do probably have another problem but if it wasn't for this make sure you didn't knock any hoses or connectors loose-there is a sensor in the coolant channel on the front of  the intake to the left of the alternator or it could be getting a reading off of the cylinder temp sensor on the drivers side head it would be located under intake on front.
