Ford Repair: 88 ford ranger, inertia switch, info bulletins

Question
i have a feul problem.i found a broken wire at the relay and now when you turn the key on the pump runs all the time without the engine running.is this normal for this to be or do i now have a relay problem that won't kick the pump out when it comes up to pressure.

Answer
google alldata for around 30 dollars you can get a subscription for a year for your truck it will have wiring diagrams, repair info, bulletins and recalls with this info in hand you can trace your wiring to find your grounds and powers you have to have both to run pump

generally ign to fuel pump relay to inertia switch to pump you have to have power and ground to run pump-you have ground all the time so you have to figure where the power is coming from good luck.
