QUESTION: where is the ideal control motor at on a 2.3L,and how do i clean throttle plate

Answer
find your breather-follow the tube to the engine on where the tube connects to the engine is your throttle bore/body-unscrew the clamp (looks like a big hose clamp) pull the tube off of throttle bore and look inside you will see a plate covering the hole that is your throttle plate-if you have someone push the accelerator the plate will open and you may see black gunk around it-that needs to be cleaned out carb cleaner will do it and a small brush-go to parts house/wal mart/tractor supply store etc. get a small wooden handle brush i would recommend a tooth brush but the head may break off and go in the engine
spray cleaner and brush keep doing this until clean-halfway through the can slide tube back on momentarily and start truck to get excess cleaner out of manifold so it doesn't hydraulock the cylinders-then repeat-after that is clean-you will see an iac motor mounted on outside either on top or on side of throttle bore-two 8mm headed bolts hold it on-take it off and clean inside the two holes that will be black-you can reuse the gasket-when finished reconnect and roadtest about 5 miles
see if it is any better. good luck.
