Ford Repair: Electrical - Mirrors, test light, fuses

Question
Hi Mark,
Not sure if you deal with this area or not, but shall ask.
I have a 2000 Explorer - SLT..., which is fitted with the remote/motor driven side mirrors.  Both of which stopped working about a year ago.  Not at the same time mind you, but none the less stopped.  Fuses are good, and once in a while you might be able to coax one along.  Is it generally the motor in the mirror that has, or is, failing?
Are they repairable without replacement?
Thanks much for your time and efforts.

Being as you live around all that salt air mirrors may be a common problem-here in northeast georgia the only time i see a mirror being replace is when someone breaks one. but hopefully yours is just a switch
good luck.
