Ford Repair: 1984 Ford E-150 Econoline van It has no spark, spark plug wire, pickup coil

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1984 Ford E-150 Econoline van It has no spark. I was driving down the road and it died and that was it. I have replaced everything, coil, control module, ignition switch, pickup coil, cap, rotor, I’ve even rewired the coil and the distributor to the control module. I usually have no problem working on vehicles but I’m stumped here.

ANSWER: Is the rotor button turning at all? Could be a broken or stretched timing chain.

QUESTION: I did already checked it and it is turning and I cant turn it by hand.

Answer
A no spark symptom points to a defective distributor. The distributor for you're truck is cheap enough considering the labor and time you already have invested. Let us know if you need more instructions.

<=== Disconnect the battery first of course...

Just make sure that the #1 cylinder is at TDC. Also, make sure that the rotor button was pointing to the number one spark plug wire. Mark the position of the distributor with a a marker. Take you're time. When was the last time the timing chain was serviced?
