Ford Repair: 96 FORD TAURUS #6 misfire and code, catalytic convertor, infrared thermometer

My daughters taurus has 2 codes coming up, PO306 and PO420.
Could the misfire in cylinder 6 cause the the catalyst system efficiency below treshold in bank 1 and should I consider replacing the Catalytic convertor..Is bank 1 the front bank?

Always have the catalytic converters tested with an infrared thermometer. The leading cause of catalytic converter failure is engine misfire. Long story short, they have a bunch of pellets made of assorted precious metals. When these pellets are saturated with fuel repeatedly, they clump together and clog the converter.
