Ford Repair: 1967 Mustang breaks, propane torch, mustang coupe

Question
I have a 1967 289 Code A Mustang coupe project that I'm working on. I got the car for nothing and the front break drums are locked up. They won't turn at all and I can't seem to get the drums off to replace the brake system. Is their any method that I could use to get the drums freed from the rusted brake shoes to remove and replace them?

Answer
First, spray liquid wrench or DW40 to loosen the rust, then use a puller  (can be rented for auto parts store).  Be careful as there is a lot of force that is applied and it could hurt you if you're too close.

If this does not work, I would recommend as a final solution is to use heat.  Use a propane torch to apply to the area then use the puller or hammer to take it off.  For hotter heat, use MABP gas instead of propane.

Good Luck!
