Ford Repair: Windshield fluid front and rear in 2000 Expedition, rear windshield, windshield washer

Question
Mark, I asked the following question .... "2000 Expedition. No fluid would dispense on my front windshield but did on the rear. I replaced the fluid tank but same issue. I then went under the hood and switched some of the relays(?). Now, when I push to dispense fluid in the rear ... I get fluid dispensing on the front windshield, but now can't get fluid on the rear window. Any thoughts on where the problem might be? Thanks, Brian" And your answer was "the washer motor for rear may be bad-switching relays wouldn't switch which window got fluid it only completes a circuit-also could have a plugged hose-stand by fender or washer jug have some one push button for rear washer and see if you hear motor working if you do then probably hose or nozzle plugged or broke if not probably bad washer motor."  Could this be a problem in the turn signal arm (or whatever it's called) because now the rear windshield wipers will not work at all ... and again, I get fluid to the front windshield when I rotate the signal arm for the fluid for the rear ?? Complicated ... that's why I'm wondering if the problem might be in the signal arm? But that doesn't explain why things changed when I switched and then returned the relays? Thanks,

the washers work by when you turn your switch from front to rear the signal goes through a gem module-relay-washer pump so your problem is probably going to be washer switch or gem module would have to be checked with volt meter and or test light at switch and module. you can go to alldatadiy.com and for about 27.00 you can buy a year subscription for one vehicle it will have wiring diagrams-bulletins etc. to help with diagnosing the vehicle with this site you can type in windshield washer and electrical diagrams and it will come up you can see what circuits to check. good luck.
