Ford Repair: Cost of Spark Plug replacement on a Ford Escape V6, motorcraft spark plugs, intensive job

Hi,

 Do you know how much would the replacement of the spark plugs on a 2001 Ford escape V6 4WD cost? My mechanic is asking for $400 after he diagnosed the Engine Check code.

That does seem a little high, but depending on you're part of the country it may not be. That is a very labor intensive job. You have to take the top of the motor apart, basically, to get to the rear plugs. The good news is, you get several gaskets replaced. Take my advice, make sure that they use the OEM Motorcraft spark plugs.
