Ford Repair: 1997 ford t-bird, head gaskets, inconveniece

I changed the thermostat but tighten the bolts to much so the housing cracked my question is if I have to change the whole plastic housing?

that would be the smart thing to do because the housing is a lot less expensive than the inconveniece of sitting on side of road waiting for a tow truck which cost-because the housing cracked more
and overheated possibly blowing head gaskets. good luck
