Ford Repair: 1997 Town Car, mass airflow sensor, vacuum leaks

Is the timing adjustable on a 1997 Town Car 4.6?  If not, how do you get rid of pinging?

it is not adjustable-use good gas-check for vacuum leaks-clean your mass airflow sensor then take battery cables off of battery touch them together for about 10 seconds. reconnect them then roadtest about 15 miles-it may idle rough or stall a few times until idle relearns-if your throttle bore or iac is dirty it may not relearn properly-also you may have an egr valve passage in the throttle bore

main two things that cause ping on this vehicle is dirty mass airflow sensor and/or clogged passage for egr in throttle bore.
