Ford Repair: 2000 Ford Taurus Antenna, ford taurus, interior fabric

QUESTION: How do I take out the antenna in my 2000 Ford Taurus?  It broke in the car wash and I have to replace the whole thing but don't know how to take it off.  I want to leave the plastic piece attached to the car.  How do I take out the core part and replace it?

Ok,

If you look in the trunk ,on the side that the antenna is on,you probably have a interior fabric trim panel hiding the lower end of the antenna mount. Remove the panel so you can see the antenna mount.
What you should see is a sliding type bracket with a 10mm bolt through it. If you remove the bolt, the antenna should slide down out of the grommet in the q-panel.You install it in reverse.From the inside of the car,up throught the bottom of the grommet.Make it level with the top of the grommet you see on the outside of the q-panel.
