Ford Repair: f-150 4.9 1992 (A 300 cly), coil wire, cly

i have replaced this much. fuel pump/injectors(all)/pressure reglator/plugs/wires/rotor cap and all/brain
i have checked timeing gear/keeper and all for alinement.
problem is as long as you hold coil wire off 1-inch it starts and runs great.put it on and if you can get it to start smoke/pop/dies.

Hello Mike, Tough question, sounds like something is grounding the spark out. check to make sure the surface is clean where the coil mounts and might possibly have a bad coil. Aslo check to0 make sure the wires that go to the coil from the wiring harness are ok. Good luck hope this helps Thanks Tony
