Ford Repair: smoke from the hood, lincoln ls, burning rubber

Question
I recently tried to jump the battery on my Lincoln LS, my horn began to blare and I smelled burning plastic or rubber. I changed the battery and started it up normally, but there's still smoke and the smell of burning rubber. What does that sound like.

Answer
Electrical problem is what it sounds like, in the wiring. Refrain from "jump starting" with newer vehicles. They should only be done in extreme cases. Somehow you must have shorted something out possibly. Have it looked at. A dead battery will take out an alternator and a dead alternator will take out a new battery.
