Ford Repair: Parasitic Key Off Battery Drain, ford explorer eddie bauer, explorer eddie bauer

Question
I own a 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer.  I was involved in an accident last December. The body work left me with no issues but I had multiple electrical issues on day one that were "supposedly" fixed by the dealer.  About 2 weeks after I got the vehicle back..my battery was dead. I had it and my alternator tested and both were fine..I just needed a charge.

All seemed ok for 2 months, about a week ago my Air Bag light stayed on while driving, then later that afternoon, my battery was dead again. I placed a DMM inline with the battery shut all doors and things and left the vehicle untouched for about an hour to test the key-off drain.  My DMM reads a steady .17 Amps of drain.  That seems really high to me.  I started pulling fuses to see if I could isolate it any further and the only fuse that changed the reading was the fuse labeled (SJB) power.  That seems to take out the entire fuse box.

Am I right in thinking that drain is excessively high? Is there anything else I can do to narrow down the cause?

Thanks!

Answer
Stephen,

A water leak intrusion can cause a condition like this. Pull all four interior kick panels and your front scuff plates, put your hand under the rug and see it it is wet or damp. "A" pillar or side winshield leaks can leak on top of a module.
