Ford Repair: Ford escort--chemical odor after fuel line repairs, rotten egg smell, ford escort

Question
I recently purchased a bad tank of gas and needed to have the fuel line
replaced in my 99 Ford Escort. Two weeks later, the car is running fine, but
there a strong chemical odor lingers in the cab, to the point where I need to
drive with the windows down in order to not feel dizzy. I brought the car back
to the repair shop that replaced the fuel line. and they indicated there was no
problem with the fuel line and that I shouldn't worry about it/they could find
nothing wrong.

At this point, driving in the vehicle is an unpleasant experience and I hate to
think of what I'm breathing.

Any idea what the problem is? Potential solutions?

Thanks!

Answer
Hello Alyssa, Can you describe the odor ? sweet smell, rotten egg smell(sulfur),bold smell like coffee might smell like. It is possible there is the smell coming from the exhaust. Odors can pick up through the fresh air duct for the cabin(inside) of the vehicle. You could have a repair shop check the exhaust. That is where i would start 1st. Hope this helps Thanks Tony
