Ford Repair: 2002 ranger starting problem, battary, fuel fire

2002 Ranger has been parked for 3 years, New battary, Tried to statt,but could not.Added gas and HEEt. What is correct way to statr the Truck? Truck rurns over but will not start,4 speed manual

The first thing we need to know is what you are lacking,fuel,fire, or both.See if you have fire to the plugs.Check the coil packs to make sure they are not corroded,they probably are.Go ahead and slap a new fuel filter on since the current might be clogged up.If you have ever seen what three year old gasoline looks like you will understand.You will need to replace the fuel filters every oil change for the first 6 months.Speaking of which,change the oil before you do anything else.Go ahead and pull the plugs out to check them,by now they may be fouled,so change them accordingly.What was going on with the truck when you parked it?
