Ford Repair: ford f100, clutch replacement, clutch pedal

Question
Hello Mr. Florence,
I have a 1983 Ford F100 pickup. I had the clutch replaced about 18 months ago, although I have only put about 500 miles on the truck since. It is only driven a little, mostly around town.
When the clutch was replaced, the shop owner told me to bring it in after 1000 miles for some type of adjustment that he would perform for free. I think it had to do with the play in the clutch pedal.
Tonight I notice the clutch pedal does not return to it's full position, about equal to the brake pedal. Instead it's about half way down toward the floor. It operates the clutch fine and I cannot detect any problem with clutch operation.
Could this problem simply mean that it's time for me to take in in for the adjustment I was promised when I spent about 400 dollars for the clutch replacement?

Thank-you very much for your reply,
                        Dan

Answer
Hello Dan, If my memory works correctly ? I think that is a hydraulic clutch. If it is check fluid level in the clutch master. Also check clutch pedal up under dash there bushings that wear out and will cause the pedal drop. If the clutch has linkage it is adjustable. Sorry about memory on the clutch on a 83' Hope this helps and let me know Thanks Tony
