Ford Repair: 4.6 liter engine, mobil 1 oil filter, 1993 crown vic

Question
I owned a 1993 crown vic which was a great car but it burned oil out of the tailpipe under hard acceleration. Do all 4.6 engines do this? I see alot of those cars on the road that blow smoke from a stop.

Answer
That is normal for you're car to do this.I minimized the amount of "soot" coming out.It involved a pretty hard discipline. The first thing I did was to used an oil that had a very high flash point.Mobil 1 synthetic, not the EP,with a Mobil 1 oil filter. The next thing that I did was to put a set of 9mm Ford Racing wires on.The wires were remarkably cheap through Summit. The best part is that Advance Auto and Autozone both price match Summit. How cool is that. Also, run high test fuel only.See if that doesn't make a difference. The discipline is with the oil change. Most people are used to the ten dollar oil change so a thirty can be known to have sticker shock. It is best though, read up on it if you like.
