Ford Repair: 84 frd f250 internmtitently quits running., neutral safety switch, ford f250

hi i have a 84 ford f250 460 automatic transmission.4 wheel drive. i have been having a problem where the engine will just die.i have replaced fuel pump,coil,fuel filter,and adjusted float bowls. it runs now for awhile then just dies.it has an msd ready to run distributor.i have cleaned the contacts on the cap and rotor they were a little crusty.will replace if needed.i have put my finger over fuel hose appears to hold presure and stay running.can the neutral safety switch be the problem? i have also cleaned all contacts and grounds.aternator will keep the truck unning seperated from battery,battery cranks engine over fine will restart immediately now after new coil.carbuetor is getting old same as distributor 5 yrs old it i a holley with vacuum secondarys i have discnnected the choke as prcaution and have it wired up.dont need it anyway live in arizona.anyway is my worktruc i need it working asap any ideas will be appreiated.

I don't think the neutral safety is you're problem.I would start with the distributor.It is possible that you have a problem in the shaft.Of course either mark the distributor or set at number 1 TDC before removal.Are the plugs wet?If so you may be looking at a problem in the carburetor.
