Ford Repair: Expedition Manifold, combustion temperature, stainless tubing

Question
Hi James,
I am replacing the exhaust manifold on my 1997 ford expedition drivers side. On the back end of the manifold, there is a fitting that connects some sort of stainless tubing connected to the upper part of the engine. The nut has rotted away and I don't know what this tubing is called or where I can get it. Any idea?

Thanks
Phil

Answer
It is an emmissions recirculation tube.It injects exhaust into the intake to drop the combustion temperature. Some parts stores can order them, ask the parts pro,but you will probably have better luck getting it from the dealer.Maxi Muffler should be able to fix you right up.
