Ford Repair: F-150 4.9L OVERHEATING, bearer of bad news, head gasket

Question
HI THE RADIATOR BLEW UP  I PUT IN A BRAND NEW RAD AN THERMOSTAT REFILLED WITH FLUID AND IT OVER HEATED  WHAT COULD BE PLUGED?   F150 4.9L AUTO TRANS 1994

Answer
Unless you plugged something yourself,I doubt that is you're problem. If you have changed the radiator and thermostat, and you are still running hot then you have two other possibilities.Providing that you have not messed with the ignition timing, you're water pump would be the first thing that I would replace. However,if you're engine temperature got hot enough to "blow up a radiator" then you have to look at the head gasket. You may have also cooked you're rings.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.Next time when you're vehicle runs hot, immediately cut it off.Live to drive another day.
