It appears that the fuel door interlock is stuck which won't allow me to open Drivers side sliding door.  The switch inside the fuel door area will not pop out all the way. When I press on the switch, the latch on the slider does not move. How to access the linkage to the latch?

  This is a tricky one.  Most vehicles have an emergency fuel door release that will override the interior switch if it fails.  It's just a little pull cord that usually has an orange tag on it.  The problem is that I don't know where it is on a Windstar.  On my old Mustang it was in the trunk area under the spare tire cover.  I am, of course, assuming that your van has one at all which I'm not entirely sure of.  Aside from that, you may have to have a shop look at it.  Hope this helps.
