Ford Repair: 87 Ford Bronco II problems, ford bronco ii, ford bronco

Question
Unusual situation: Emission light comes on, then Rear Antilock light, then the seatbelt warning alarm.  Then the engine sputters and dies.  Emission light is intermittant, doesn't stay on more than a second.  When Em and RA lights are on together, the engine starts chugging.  When the seatbelt alarm starts dinging, I know the engine's about to die.

Seems to happen when the vehicle is moving at or under 25.  No overheating.

The vehicle does have a tranny problem with a bad leak.

Is this problem electrical?  Air flow?  Tranny?  I have found nothing similar in books or on the Net.  I would appreciate any advice.

Answer
Yep, you have a weird one there. Have you noticed any problem swith stuff like the radio, wipers, or other accessories? I am thinking maybe the ignition switch has started to separate, and causing a loss of voltage to those things that are associated with the RUN or ON position. The switches in the 1980's were prone to failure, start there and let me know if you find anything wrong with the ignition switch.

I think you can add follwups or comments instead of asking again, look under feedback.
