Ford Repair: 1986 F150 302 misses/no power when warm, heat conditions, ford f150

Question
I have a 1986 Ford F150 2WD 302cid with fuel injection and a automatic transmission. The truck runs great when cold and at lower speeds, but after it warms up it will miss and buck at hi-way speeds starts around 45MPH. I have replaced the plugs, dist cap/rotor, and fuel filter. Didn't help. Any advice will be appreciated.

Answer
First of all, if you happened to buy Bosch plugs, they will create problems. Use a different brand if this is the case. Your misfire and bucking could be spark plug wires, which can be worse under heat conditions. These engines are notorious for the boots cracking or arcing at the spark plugs.

Fuel pressure might be an issue also. Have you checked it for codes? Try disconnecting the egr valve and then drive it under hot conditions, see if that changes anything.
