Ford Repair: 2001 Ford Windstar fuel tank wont fill past 1/4 tank., 2001 ford windstar, ford windstar

My wifes 2001 Ford Windstar fuel tank just started going haywire. When you try to fill it up it will start spurting gas out of the nozzle and it wont fill past a 1/4 of a tank. The fuel gage worked two weeks before when she filled it up last. Any help would be great.

well a very very common problem with that is the vent to the gas tank gets filled with spider webs and doesnt let the gas tank vent and it wont let u fill it , if u go to the gas cap and look under vech... there will be a big hose that goes to teh gas cap and then there is a smaller hose that is vent follow from gas cap area to where it ends on teh other side and dissconnect and blow air through it and that should do it
