Ford Repair: 1995 ford windstar 3.8, crankshaft position sensor, 1995 ford windstar

While driving my van it made a noise then died.It would not start back up. We have changed the coil pack and the spark plugs are still not firing. But the engine will crank over. What is the next thing we can try to get it started?

Does the "check engine" light stay on when you crank the engine?  If so, then you probably need a crankshaft position sensor.  If it turns off, the problem could be computer or wiring-related.  What kind of noise did it make, and how many miles are on the van?
