Ford Repair: Stabalizer Bar 2000 Windstar., box wrench, changing oil

Question
I just replaced driver side front stabilizer bar yesterday and now there is a clunking noise when turning and hitting bumps. Note: There was not a clunking noise before I replaced it.  I noticed the ball joint was popped out while changing oil and replaced with new stabilizer from auto zone.  Now the Clunk.  Could it be that I need to grease the joints or that it's not tight enough. I did tighten until the joint spun...Do I need to hold the joint with plyers and tighten more?

Answer
You have to hold the nut with a box wrench and turn the "bolt" part with another wrench or socket until it's very tight.  They can be tricky-- the nut feels tight before it really is, since it has locking threads on it.  If you use an impact wrench to tighten them and spin the bolt too much it will actually wear out the new stabilizer-- hopefully that's not the case but it can happen.  They do make a special tool for these, but it's awful expensive unless you plan on replacing a lot more stabilizer links.  Good luck,
