Ford Repair: beep in contour, ford contour, electronic problem

Sometimes when riding our 95 Ford Contour we can hear a soft beeping sound. It beeps five times and that's it. Is that some kind of warning?

Are you wearing your seatbelt when this happens?  Many cars will chime occasionally to remind you to wear a seatbelt.  If the buckle is dirty the switch may not work and it would beep even if you are buckled in. That's the only thing I can think of, unless there's a wiring or electronic problem with the car.
