Ford Repair: PCV valve on 5.0, oil filler cap, side valve

Question
A co-worker asked me to show him where the PCV was on his 88 5.0 HO (in a Cougar, but I think it should be the same as an 88 Mustang). There is nothing on either valve cover but the oil fill cap. Is it possible that it soesn't have a PCV?

Answer
Sam-

No...it should have a PCV valve.  If you look on the driver's side valve cover you should see a piece of hose coming from the oil filler cap.  Just follow that hose and you should find the PCV valve (on some models it's actually inserted into the cap itself and where the hose originates).  I'm not sure exactly where the valve is on an '88 Cougar, but that's where you'd find it on most 5.0L motors.  Hope this helps.
