Ford Repair: 93 taurus code 337 EVP, egr valve position, egr valve position sensor

Question
I have a 93 Ford Taurus, 8th VIN number: U.

My check engine light comes on after the engine is warmed up.
I Check the codes and am only getting a 337 [EGR (EGRP/EVP/PFE/DPFE) circuit above maximum voltage].
I read on a forum where someone with a 92 ford truck had this code, and chnaged the EGR Valve Position Sensor (EVP) and reset the codes and it fixed the problem. The only thing is that this is on a 92 and on a truck, even though it appears all the ford codes are the same for these years.
I'm just wondering if it's worth trying a new EVP sensor to fix it. Thank you for any help with this problem.

Answer
Hello Matt,
Whether it is worth it or not to replace the sensor depends on how bad it bothers you that the light comes on. Sometimes EVP codes can be set from the valve not correctly seating and closing all the way , but I think that sets a 332. On the circuit failure codes, if the circuit checks out ok (connection at sensor, wiring, etc.), then the sensor is the likely cause. Having the EGR working properly is actually beneficial, so I would fix it.
I hope this info. helps, and I'm very sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Good Luck!  Shaun.
