Ford Repair: Leaving on an extended trip - car prep, ford taurus, motorcycle tour

Question
Hi, don't know if this is the correct 'department' to ask this question, but here goes. I am leaving on Saturday to do a motorcycle tour of the US. I have a '99 Ford Taurus and am wondering if I should put fuel fixative or do anything else other than disconnect the battery. I will be back in 4 to 6 months. I live in Hawaii and the car will be covered.
Thanks,
Jim

Answer
Jim-

A bottle of fuel stabilizer certainly wouldn't hurt.  It prevents the fuel from gelling and clogging up the lines.  The only other thing I'd do aside from disconnecting the battery is changing the oil.  It's not really a must, but it's a good time to do it, especially if you're close to needing one anyway.  Hope this helps.
