Ford Repair: imrc 97 cobra, intake runners, torque production

Question
I have a 97 cobra and every now and then I get a check eng light saying my imrc is stuck closed and imrc bank 1 input. How would I fixed this and were can I find parts? I have had a real problem trying to find any info on this. Also I have a supercharger for the car but I have not put it on yet because of this. If I put it on and the problem comes back am I at risk of damaging my eng?

You can get the plates that are stuck at about any parts store or online.  Essentially you have two sets of intake runners that have different benefits.  At low speeds the intake uses the longer runners for better low speed torque production.  At higher rpm the plates switch over to the shorter runners and block off the longer runners to make better top end power.  A supercharger wouldn't cause engine damage if the problem returned, but you'd probably feel a sizeable power loss when the blower started creating boost.  Hope this helps.
