Ford Repair: Wiper arm bushing, stock aluminum, salvage yard

Question
QUESTION: The arm that controls my passenger wiper has started coming off.  I've tried several parts stores and our local Ford dealer and no luck.  It's an '86 Ranger STX with a build date of 09/85.  Where could I find a replacement arm/bushing?  The truck is old, but it's not that old.  I shouldn't have to call a classic parts place to find it should I?  Thanks for the help.
ANSWER: Jason, there is a company in Oklahoma that deals in older vehicles.  Their number is 405-631-3933.  However, you should be able to pick up some universal bushings in the "help" isle of any parts store.  You could always try a salvage yard.  I hope this helps,    Jason

QUESTION: Thanks for the help.  Since you tackled that one, I've got a more basic one.  I've got the stock aluminum? STX wheels and I'm wondering what the maximum size of tire I can put on there is.  It's got 205/65r15's on it right now and they don't quite cover the loads I put on them.  I'd like to step up to 225/75/r15's or 30-9.50-15's.  Will they fit safely?  What's the size on those rims?  I know they're 15's, but I don't know how wide.  Thanks.

Answer
Jason, you should easily be able to put those tires on the wheels.  I have a set of stock steel wheels that have a set of 35/12.50/15 on them.  The steel wheels are only 8 inches wide.  The wider the wheel, the better the tire will look.  But the main thing is just getting them to hold air.  I don't see a problem with the sizes you are talking about.  I hope this helps you in your decision.  And by the way, bigger is better.   : )     Good luck,  Jason
