Ford Repair: 01 focus thunk noise, cv axle, power steering fluid

Question
85k miles. Makes a thunking noise from front right wheel/suspension when turning both directions. Drives fine going straight. No visable leaks. Power steering fluid level is ok, steering wheel moves normally.

Answer
Lora, this is a little outside my area of expertise, however, it sounds like you have a bad CV axle.  Other possibilities could be hub bearings, struts, or even bad tires.  Nevertheless, your problem is more than likely a CV axle.  You can pick one up at your local parts store for around 60 dollars.  It is a fairly easy fix, as long as the strut is not in the way.  I hope this helps,   Jason
