Ford Repair: 1986 Ford F-150 brake hose removal, ford f 150, brake hose

Question
Any suggestions for getting the clip off that holds the top of the brake hose.  I can get it to rotate, but not unclip.

Answer
Laura, could you please be a little more specific.  I can only assume that you are trying to replace your old hoses.  On your truck, you should be able to take a pair of wrenches, one to hold and the other to turn.  The only clip that should be on the hose, is the one on the back-side of the spring and shock mounting assembly.  The only purpose that I have found it serves is keeping the hose from sliding through the hole.  If this is the clip you are talking about, all you need to do to get around it, is to take the hose and push toward the truck.  This should give you enough clearance to get a wrench on the fitting and remove it from the metal line.  If this is not what you are talking about, then please respond and give me a little more details.  Good luck,   Jason
