Ford Repair: Engine stalls, throttle plate, engine stalls

Question
When I start the engine, it fails to stay idled. I find my self with one foot on the brake pedal and the other on the gas.

Answer
Hey Greg..
It will be a 4.6 liter.. with my experience, just go to a local parts store  or a ford dealer and purchase an IAC ,motor (idle air control). This is a very easy part to install it is only two bolts and 1 wire connector. It is located on the trottle body. should take less then 5 minutes to install. make sure to install the gasket back as well.. and this should solve your problem. these Iac motors had a tendancy to get stuck all the way closed cauing the engine not to idle without the throttle plate being open. Hope this was helpful.
