Ford Repair: F-150 flasher, turn signal switch, left turn signal

Question
My left turn signal is blinking rapidly, but the right is fine.  My left brake light is also out, I replaced the bulb, but still out.  I bought a flasher relay, but can not locate where it is.  Will the relay solve my problem?  Where is it?  Thanks.

Answer
Scott,

The reason your left turn signal blinks fast is because the bulb is not working. Once you get the left brake/turn bulb fixed it will go back to normal.

I would start by checking for power and ground at the left rear brake lamp bulb socket. Also, try turning on the 4 way flashers. If the bulb works ok with the 4 ways you probably have a bad multifunction switch. (turn signal switch) Otherwise check the socket for melted plastic around the terminals. A flasher won't fix your problem.

Good Luck!!
