Ford Repair: 1995 mustang 3.8 V6 auto, mass air sensor, cold air intake


Question
I HAVE A SLIGHT HESITATION WHEN I FIRST START TO ACCELERATE THEN SHE PICKS UP>  IT DOESN'T START QUICK.
I HAVE A LOT OF MODIFICATIONS SUCH AS:  COLD AIR INTAKE,SCREAMIN DEMON COIL,WIRES AND PLUGS NEW,REBUILT TRANS.,SNIPER TUNED CHIP IN PCM, 16" WHEELS AND MORE BUT STILL SLOW ON TAKE OFF!
CAN YOU GIVE SUGGESTION?

Joseph,

I don't know how "slow" the car is, so this makes it hard for me to judge. If it "falls on its face" when you accelerate I would check your oxygen sensors to see if they are stuck rich too long causing the ECM to take fuel away. Also, I have seen the cold air intakes mess with the Mass Air Sensor at low speeds. Try your factory intake to see if it clears.

Next I assume you understand that by adding free flowing air intakes and exhaust will cause your top end power to increase, but you tend to loose torque at the lower RPM band. I know the 6 cylinder isn't super peppy on the start anyway so you might be making it worse with the intake.
