Ford Repair: A/C Pulley, ford mustang gt, ford mustang

Question
Hi, I just purchased a 1992 Ford Mustang GT, and my problem is that as I was looking at the engine, I noticed that the air conditioning pulley wasn't moving, but the belt just went right over.  The pulley then started to rotate again, but it stopped soon later,  Every few seconds it will rotate like it should but then stop.  I haven't looked into it really, but I'm just thinking the pulley is loose.  If you could help me that would be great.

Sounds like your A/C clutch might be starting to freeze.  Generally there's 2 ways around that.  One would be to just have the compressor replaced.  It's not insanely expensive, but it's certainly not cheap.  The second option would be to ditch the A/C altogether and use an A/C delete kit (available from several aftermarket companies).  This would leave you without A/C, but it's cheaper than a new compressor and it takes a lot of weight off the front end (which is why it's popular with racers).  Hope this helps.
