Ford Repair: engin swap musta, 4 cylinder cars, aftermarket wheels

hi steve .  i have a 93 conv, calypso color,  4cyl.  i can get a complete cobra,  engin,  harness , computer and all.  1 already have the big auto tranny. i know i will need 5 bolt conversion,with posi rear. 56.000 miles for about 1200.00 is it worth it.  how much work,can it be done.   al

  For that price you're looking at a pretty good deal.  You really don't NEED a 5 lug conversion unless you want Cobra or some aftermarket wheels, but it's not a bad thing to have.  The rear also doesn't need to have any sort of posi but it will need to be an 8.8" rear as opposed to the 7.5" rear in there now (and again, posi wouldn't hurt).  You'll probably want the springs from a V8 car as well since the added weight on the front end doesn't ride will with 4 cylinder springs.  Brakes from a GT or Cobra would also help.  You're basically looking at a whole GT or Cobra suspension, but it doesn't have to all be done when you do the swap.  Also, don't forget that you'll need to hang dual exhaust on the car since the 4 cylinder cars only had single pipes.  Hope this helps.
