Ford Repair: 1998 Ford Explorer, windshield wiper motor, rear windshield

I want to replace the rear windshield wiper motor. How does one remove the rear liftgate trim panel?  

Answer
Remove two screws at the pull handle, remove the hole cover at the lock knob, most have a screw under this cover, remove that screw. Carefully pop the retainers out along the window, then lift the trim panel towards the top and remove it.


The retaining clips for the trim around the window are stout, use a flate bladed screwdriver, push it under the trim and pry the trim off. Not as difficult as you think.
